At last the time to leave

28th April - We actually got away on time this morning - first stop Lake Macquarie for Mum’s surprise 80th lunch, which was fantastic, catching up with old friends and family until late afternoon then on to my brother’s at Abermain for the night so haven’t gone far in our adventure west yet.

Enjoyed our time with Andrew & Sharon in their new home then finally set off for Dubbo only to be stuck behind a half a house on the back of a truck, then stopped for some time waiting for mining machinery to be transported in the opposite direction and a while later behind another wide load so we seemed to take a long time just to get to Dubbo but arrive we did and set up quickly giving us time to catch up with our part time travelling partners who arrived late morning. Spent a lovely evening catching up with my school friend I haven’t seen for almost 9 years, who lives in Dubbo.
30th April - Our day at the zoo! Had a great day with the 4 of us biking around Dubbo zoo, sure we were going to pay for the effort the next day but learnt lots of new things and recommend this wonderful experience (much better than Taronga Park) and none of us suffered for having not ridden bikes in ages.
